| I read a review in MPC about vista that had a nice comparison chart of the features of the various versions. I was a little surprised at what I saw. I won't bore you will al the details, but the main things I noticed that I think will be a surprise to people are these: VISTA HOME BASIC full version $200 - no aero glass - no media center - no mobility center - no xbox connectivity - no drive encryption - cannot connect to Windows domains Vista HOME PREMIUM full version $240 - aero glass - media center - mobility center - xbox connectivity - no drive encryption - cannot connect to Windows domains The other thing I saw today was in a thread on another forum where I was helping someone setup their drives in native sata mode on a DS3. They were running vista and left the following note tonight. " I been running my setup in IDE mode but thanks to all the tips provided I went ahead and update the JMICRON drivers for both XP Pro & Vista Ult RC2. So now I'm officially running my SATA drives in AHCI mode. FYI, Vista RC2 asked me to reactivate Windows due to "change in hardware." So changing drivers is considered change in hardware. " Now of course we still don't have a real life confirmation that activations under vista are not going to be restricted, but that scares me. The good thing about that though is that Gigabyte must have been correct in saying that the reason I couldn't load vista on my ds3 was operator error LOL!! | The Real Final Word | That would most likely be, that you cannot connect to a local network domain that was set up in windows. Kind of like having a ftp server or similar. Or if you are at work and they have a private network domain set up, you are not using the correct log in information. |

How freaking stupid is that???!!! If you have a system that is running xp pro, and you create a network domain, you can't even log onto it with vista home version??? what the hell!!!! | |
