Default USB boot OS

My goal: Make a USB thumb drive dual bootable with a Linux distro and A CD That we are not allowed to talk about using in this forum plus have access to specific troubleshooting tools.

The problem: Which operating system works best for this practice.

List of tools: (some have Linux variants, but some may need wine) GPG, aircrack, cain & Able, Netbios scan, nmap, netstumbler, rpingc, wireshark, putty, and maybe access to active directory.

Any Linux gurus out there know where I should start with this? -- and I am assuming the BIOS on the computers is new enough to enable USB booting to a 1GB drive or larger.

Slax is the best thumb drive distro I've ever used. They packed a LOT of data onto a 256MB-sized disk. It's pretty straightforward. Let me know if you need some help. It's to be installed on a FAT32-formatted disk.

Hi Cyberlon,

I know its a bummer, but that particular CD (which I edited out) is Warez - and thus off limits in this type of conversation. However, it shouldn't stop you from getting the help you need. Just some things are better left unsaid ;)

Mandriva sells a 2gb USB stick with the latest power distro on it. It goes for........... I think it's $89 USD.
