Default Type fonts

I added some cool Gothic type fonts to my desktop and they work fine when I compose a message or a word document, but when I send to others, they receive only the standard type.

Must they too have the extra fonts? Is there a way to work around this?

Yea, unless its a default M$ font, they will need to have the font installed in their computer.

Its the same as if you view a Chinese website, and it appears as all
???????? ?????????????????????? ???? ???? ???????????????? ?????????

The font isn't installed, so the computer doesn't know what to do.

One way, although it might seem stupid, is to send your emails as jpgs. other than that, I can't see any way to get around it. Of course, then your word docs are worthless.

What you could do though is just zip up ur word docs with the font file (they are really small aren't they?) and email it with your word doc
Or, (i don't know how many would do this) you could make a self extracting exe and have it extract the font to C:/Windows/Fonts.

'course I wouldn't take an exe I got in an email from anyone. ever.

Zambini is right, the recipient would need to have the font installed on their computer as well. Short of sending them the font to install, your best option (as Zambini mentioned) would be to embed the font in the document somehow like saving it as an image (JPG, GIF, PNG, etc).

Isnt there a way of creating web pages that open an IE prompt asking the user to install a font? Could a similar thing be done in an email?

Other than taking a screen shot, I have no idea of how to save a document as an image.

you could use adobe acrobat or somethin and export to PDF.

Or Publisher has an Export to image option.
