Default Throttle Down CPU software

I am looking for a small decent freeware program that will throttle down my server.

I am running XP64 Bit ... EIST doesn't seem to work on it. [Maybe because I am overclocked ... I dono.]

Anyways ... I have magicjack phone service and will be leaving the server on 24/7 now.

I need to basically slow the server down to just a cool dribble of its full robustness ... what softwares would you recommend?

I tried two programs that came with the mobo ... the cartoon interface scared me and I did not like the program.

Suggestions please.

Just go into the bios and set the cpu to stock settings, then use the EIST.?

What you're stating you want, you've stated you have disabled.

If it's really a server, you don't overclock them. So don't. Servers are about stability. Do you have a great machine you just happen to think of as a server? Under 50 users a day? A server would be leaning on hard driver performance more than the CPU.

It is a server for my purposes ... others would consider it an extra machine ... it may grow up into what others might consider as a server ... but for me it serves as a redundant multipurpose system that does an increasing variety of tasks and alleviates my main PC of a fair share of tasks.

It is super stable at a 600MHZ overclock and has Raid 0 with redundancy backups on 3 external hard drives.

It must work when I work and serve 2 purposes without being a heater as the third. [In winter I liked it helping to keep my office warm.]

When I work ... it must perform as a top end PC ... even though it mostly displays charts and feeds and news and video streams and I don't malke trades on it but use the data to make trades.

When i don't work ... it is in semi-retirement doing monitoring tasks and running an Internet phone service. I have 6 websites that may be mirrored on it when I have the time or hire someone. Then it will probably have to run Raid 5 and stock settings and EIST.

If this is the case then look into an AthlonXP/64 type setup so you have much better performance for only a few dollars, less heat and no need to overclock or underclock the system.

System down - Waiting for Gigabyte RMA on motherboard

Thanks HL and Corsair!
