Default Taskbar changes to old windows look

I don't know if this is a problem with Windows itself, Media Player 11, or what - but sometimes when I'm doing something in MP, my taskbar reverts to an older sort of Windows look. The start menu looks like it should, and any open windows or apps look fine, but the taskbar gets all weird on me. I have to restart to fix it. Trying to change it back via TB properties doesn't help.

Anyone know why this happens/has it happened to you?

If it's not fixed, then don't broke it!

Have you changed any settings in the Performance options?

Control Panel > System > Advanced > Performance Options > Visual Effects........Try changing the setting to "Adjust for best appearance", or "Let Windows choose whats best...."

No, not lately. I checked the visual options, and it's set on "Let windows choose what's best..."
