| I've been looking for a decent AVI editor. I primarily just want to append many avi's together and edit the sound files that go with them. I've done some googling and I didn't really find one that I liked. Thanks. -Noctis |

| The best I've used is Ulead Visual Studio 11.x. $100, but works well. Another you might want to look at is Pinnacle's Video Studio. |

| I've used Adobe Premiere Elements, but didn't like it much. My friend uses Sony Vegas and loves it. | I guess I should have mentioned that I'm not really looking to shell out bucks for it. I'm more along the lines just doodling in free time for fun. =\. Are those free? |

| Packers Fanboi | Windows movie maker has .avi support, I think... might do what you want. Not sure if it's quite powerful enough... but maybe. ![]() e6300@3.33ghz|Asus P5k-e WiFi| 4gb OCZ ReaperX|2x 3870's|1.3tb storage space|MSI tv tuner. |

| F Ucn rd dis U mst uzUNIX | Pegasys' TMPGenc...been a favorite of mine for a long time now. I thought there was an older free version of express, but didn't search too hard for it. When you're wanting to mess with sound, all you're really wanting in this more than anything is the De-Multiplexing tool where you split a file into separate video and sound files to work with. If you just want to doodle with some and remain free forever, [url=http://www.virtualdub.org/]VirtualDub is widely popular. Some compression per compile, so try to do the work in one shot. To mess with the sound part, SoundForgeXP is still fairly useful. If you want to synch up video to the sound, the video appears at the top in frames. But Buran brought up something you already have in the Windows Movie Maker. Along with Windows Encoder, you have a set of free tinker toys. |

| Cool. I'll check that out. I didn't know about the de-multiplexing. I'll look into that. Thanks |
