you need to check the air flow inside that case, maybe check the HSF to make sure its seated properly, and run through the BIOS settings.....that systemm is not going to last long with those temps

yeah i know. I turned off folding and the temps dropped tremendously. Its using a stock intel heatsink. By the looks of it. It reminds me of an arctic freezer. A real old and shytty one. I'm telling him to change the cooler.

Good call, those Intel stock coolers are horrible

Probably try cleaning out any dust too. Sounds like one of those cases that has been over-run by the dust bunny army!

But yeah, definately want to figure something out ASAP because like Capper said, that thing isn't going to last long at temps like that...

I have a feeling it may be mounted incorrectly. Even though stock cooling is junk, it is designed to run for that processor. Try remounting it.

Derek's dad doesn't believe in "working" with computers. He is a major skeptic in the ass. He believes that cpus are built to run in a certain enviroment and making holes in the case or changing things is bad. Even though i want to help my cousin, his dad wouldn't let me. The temps were so high that i said take off the side panel. Then his dad is like thats not what you should do and puts it back on. Skeptics. What can i say?

Well actaully, i'll laugh at him when his computer burns down and mine doesn't =P

You could try explaining the situation to him and what processes are actually going on in his computer. A simple education can work wonders!
