Default Sooooooooooooo . . .

So i installed a wireless pci card into my rig and was running for about 3 hours, then the computer froze. So i turned it off and turned back on, and when i logged in, windows said that my hardware had significantly changed and needed to be reactivated withing 3 days. I havent touched the interior since i put it together . . .

It looks kinda fishy to me, that and when i clicked on the pop-up balloon for the help online website, it just doesnt load the page, it keeps refreshing itself.

thoughts?

Possibly something died or your drivers were deleted/changed. Could be something like a secondary HD that went bad. Usually one minor hardware change will not do such a thing but it's not out of the question. But it does sound fishy. Or maybe somehow, windows is detecting an old piece of hardware differently for some reason....

Run the system file checker from the command prompt:

Code:
sfc /scannow
Have your system disk handy, it may ask for it.

If that doesn't fix what ails it, try a system restore, or next step, system repair.

I hate that. I took out a stick of RAM and it wanted me to be reactivated.

In fairness as it stands right now it is a pain but not a big deal, I mean 2 maybe three mouse clicks and done. The time to complain is a million times more involved than the steps to fix it.

Maybe that is true, but give me a break, every time you change anything, you need to reactivate your copy of windows????

Man, don't fart or you will contaminate the air around your computer and you will need to reactivate windows
