Default Something weird with RegMech...

Last night, I clicked the desktop icon to one of my favorite utilities, Registry Mechanic 3.0, and I got this error message that said:

"Program has been damaged by bad sector or virus, please reinstall"

This upset me, because I use the program quite a bit. So I deleted the program from ADD/Delete Programs, and deleted all the file folders, except for the setup. The really weird thing is that when I reinstalled the program, I got the same error message. I did a reinstall from the original setup I still have, I did one from a backup of the setup I have on an external drive, and I even redid an extraction from the original .RAR file and tried it from that setup, and again got the same message.

So, today I just restored my whole system to about a week ago, and now I have the program back and it seems to work fine. Has anyone ever had something like this happen? And should I be worried about my HDD?

If it's not fixed, then don't broke it!

If there is a problem with your disk, you would still get that error message, system restore or not. I'm about 99% it was malware, but just to be sure, do step 5 in my guide -

Too lazy to type it out.
