Default Recommended Software

I noticed your recommended software sticky is nearly 2 years old. Any plans to update it?

Capper, since I was looking through the stick I thought I'd let you know of issues:

1) Adobe Reader is now 8.0. Link takes you to 8.0

2) Latency Configurator link broken. Site is in Korean. I couldn't find a new link

3) Kaspersky link points to version 5.0, which is no longer available. Version 7.0 is here:
Antivirus Software - Register for a Free Trial

4) Zone Alarm link is broken. Link to free ZA Firewall is here:
ZoneAlarm - Proactive Firewall protection with multiple layers of security that stop inbound, outbound, and program attacks

5) Ad Aware now has Ad-Aware 2007 Free. Link is here:Ad-Aware 2007 - Reviews and free Ad-Aware 2007 downloads at Download.com

6) ZipGenius link is broken. New link is here: ZipGenius.it - Free zip utility for Windows that handles zip, rar, cab, 7-zip archives and CD-ROM ISO9660 image files » ZipGenius

7) Award WinFlash Utility link is broken. Couldn't find new link (though I didn't search very hard)

8) MPEG link is broken. I couldn't find a new one (again, didn't look very hard)

9) Super Pi link is broken. Couldn't find a new one. Usual laziness applies

10) AquaMark link leads to page of "spyware detection resources". Looks like all adds. I found download here:Download AquaMark 3 - AquaMark allows PC users to easily measure and compare the performance of their current and next-generation PC systems - Softpedia

11) Sciencemark link leads to another page of adds. I found it on MajorGeeks here: |MG| Science Mark 2.0 Beta 17112002

12) Cinebench link leads to 404 page. Correct line here: MAXON - The makers of CINEMA*4D and BodyPaint*3D

Link says Adobe Reader 7.0. No big deal, really, just thought I'd point it out.

Let me correct - sticky link says Adobe Reader 7.0, but most recent version is 8.0

My suggestions:

1) Foxit Reader, much smaller and less resource hungry PDF reader Foxit Software

3) I always suggest AVG or Avira based on recommendations from here: AV-Comparatives

4) ZoneAlarm is crap nowadays against modern attacks, a much better and stronger software firewall is Comodo Personal Firewall SSL Free Firewall Two Factor Authentication Products from Comodo

6) 7-zip is still the best small compression utility I could ever mention for that purpose (with WinRar a close 2nd) 7-Zip and WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Foxit Reader is AWESOME! Opens, loads, and functions MUCH faster and more reliably than Adobe Reader ever could.
