Default Prime 95. Program failure or unstable cpu?

Um i ran prime 95 for 2 tests. On the 2nd test it said fatal error rounded 0.5, expected less than 0.4. It said there was a hardware failure and to restart the test. Is this what you mean by "freeze" or w/e. OR is that just a program failure? my computer did not actaully "freeze" per say but the program did stop working.

This means that your computer is unstable. Especially on the second test. Lower your CPU fsb to the last stable number or increase the voltage on your cpu by one step.

This is why it is especially important to test each and every 5 mhz step.

Yeah, what he said

If you know that the computer was FOR SURE 100% stable 5mhz slower, then just up the voltage one increment and see if it is stable then. Keep doing that until it is stable, your temps are too high, or you have reached the maximum safe voltage limit. If you hit the max safe voltage limit (whatever you decide is your max) and it is still not stable. Then you have no choice but to back down the overclock speed.

good deal, that should help a lot, just make sure to re-Prime those settings as well so you know for sure it's rock-solid. Happy overclocking!!

prime 95 failed again. I'm gonna try running a game on it. If it fails then, then i will try increasing the voltage one more interval.
