Default PC Pitstop

PC Pitstop said that I could edit my registry to increase my broadband bandwith. Right now it's 5mbps but my broadband company advertises 10mbps. Does anyone know of this registry tweek or has anyone done it?

I've never heard of it. I remember PC Pitstop... they are still in my favourites. That was the very first computer website/forum I ever participated in. If I searhc up all the threads I made... I would find some funny stuff.

I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220

I ran their test on my new computer just to see how it would do and that came up as a fix after the test. I know their trying to sell a new optimize program but they gave directions on how to edit the registry to change the broadband. I'm not real comfortable editing the registry so I don't unless it's something easy.

You could link me to the optimizations they are offering you and I could make a reg file that would
1) Save your current settings in case you want to go back
2) Apply those settings
Unless it's something very NIC ID dependent, where you can't guess and really need to be infront of the computer. =/
Shouldn't be though, chances are they're talking about MTU, MSS, RWIN and such. Those fixes might sound neat, but they rarely prove to be very good/useful.

I'm having bigger problems right now with cpu failing tests so I'll get back to this later.

google for tcp optimizer ;)

Edit: there done it for you. I got 18mbit adsl2 but without this changeing some registry settings based on your input I usually got 500K at most. Now it's mb/s :D

Edit2: link didn't work... try again
