Hmm, for disabling hardware I would not use msconfig. What I would do is go into hardware manager, right click on the modem and click diable.

Right click the My Computer icon select properties at the bottom then select Hardware tab then select Device Manager then I believe network adapter < double click it and at the bottom is a check mark, click it and select disable.

msconfig just works good for disabling applications (like that damn quicktime tray) or drivers, not really hardware.

Don't be so mean with qttask.exe!

Seriously though I really do find those tray icons annoying. What is it, all the drivers and applications now have a tray program or what? Most of them are useless to top it off, you'll right click on them and there's a entry to "start the main program". Sure, I just couldn't double click that desktop shortcut, or the shortcut at the root of the start menu, of the other shortcut under Start->Programs.

If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you?

lol, what the heck is the point of the qtask.exe? I disable it, and if I run a .mov file, I manually open it using 'open with..'

The new edition of Quicktime, I dare you to install it! When installing it, Apple iTunes is installed along with it, and also runs a tray icon. In total the new Quicktime installs 3 programs I believe.

Why can't we just get QuickTime movie player? nooo Apple has to push itunes\ipod on us....

For the average PC user, they don't know about msconfig, so if they install QuickTime, damn iTunes runs in the backround 24/7, hogging up memory.

That's why you install the standalone!
