| I'm looking for something that works like VM Ware or Parallels on Windows and that is freeware. I have Parallels on my iMac at work and it is great and I decided I'd like to have something similar but run it on Windows to be able to try other OS's within Windows. Any ideas? | Colonel Calamity | VMWare or Microsoft VirtualPC 2007 are pretty much the only 2 choices ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| Colonel Calamity | I myself use VMWare Server The Player is also free but you can't create new ones, you have to use their preconfigured "appliances". ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| You can use VMXWizard to easily set up your own .vmx folder. Use Google. ![]() |

| Thanks guys for all the help. I installed VMware and even got a disro of Linux installed (Kubuntu), just to see the difference from Ubuntu. The only thing now is to figure out how the hell to install the VMware tools (couldn't use full screen mode). I spent about 3hrs trying everything I could think of, but not being familiar enough with Linux, couldn't get it installed. I was able to mount the drive, but it didn't do what the instructions said it should do (no graphical interface pop-up). I tried the terminal, but couldn't get the file to install.
