|  looking for different XP theme... i have been looking around and i can't seem to find any that is dark and black, to match me desktop...  could someone give an idea where can i get one... and P.S. i don't want to pay... | Re: looking for different XP theme... I can help you more when I get home. You need either windows blinds or a hacked uxtheme.dll to get any 3rd party themes to work. If you have a hacked uxtheme.dll, try: [Customize.org] Shell Themes > XP VisualStyles > XoddX (exotics) or any of these: [Customize.org] Shell Themes > XP VisualStyles They have a lot of themes here, check them out! | i don't have a have uxtheme.dll... i'll take a look on the link you gave me ty i'm totally clueless on what to do with the site, i've DL the theme and it won't show in the desktop theme on display properties... So where did it all go wrong? Did you replace the file? Did windows demand that you insert the CD (you didn't, right? Just cancelled, correct?). You put the windowsDark folder in your themes folder right? And you selected the theme, correct? Just so you know, you select the themes under the appearance tab under display properties, on the "Windows and buttons" drop down menu. | i can't select the theme it won't show up in the display properties... okie now its access deniened... shot me dead... forget it i'll just clean install my XP T_T... it just won't finish installing... now i i'm so screwed... i can't unistall it... and it won't let me bring back my system restore... | Re: looking for different XP theme... Remove every entry of crystal XP from the registry, remove the files, and see if it helps. Else, your screwed, may as well reinstall.
