| 5 Minute Mod Man | Has anyone used this software? www.logmein.com It is somewhat of a computer monitoring program that displays IP locations and such. The free version is used by some network admins to monitor PC/Laptop locations. Some use it as a LoJack alternative, even though it is not a true security program. This is kinda work related so any information and experience you may have had with this would be greatly appreciated. THANKS! Last edited by PrOLifIC_onE; June 6th, 2008 at 07:03. |

| Colonel Calamity | I have had customers that have used it quite a bit and considering most of these people know enough to double click to open a program... it seems to work well for a wide range of technical expertise... I have not used it myself so I really cannot say myself... ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| Not that it helps at all, but we have a logmein123 account, which is their web based remote desktop software. It's an excellent and well developed system, if that's any indication of their other software. ![]() |

| One of the companies I used to work for implemented logmein as their remote desktop support solution. As network consultants, we didn't like it too much, and convinced our bosses to switch to GoToMyPC. Look into both, compare reviews, and then make your decision. Also, Logmein works based on a client installed on the local machine. Therefore, in most cases the machine has to be logged-in in order for the user to be able to access it remotely. Not sure if this is different in the "Pro" version. Last edited by dttuner; June 6th, 2008 at 07:18. |

| I've had little experience with it, but from what I have used to appears to work extremely well over the internet and not just over LAN like most VNC solutions. | Level 2 College Student | I used it during the summer for 2-3 months to work on files/fix my boss's computer from home. I love it, it's saved me probably 20-30 gallons of gas and countless hours sitting through Ventura traffic. I even used it in Finland when my boss called me on vacation and asked me to fix something. >.> Very very very easy to set up and for what it costs (nothing) its very powerful. |

| The only time I find the need for software like this is when the person's computer I'm trying to fix is not running windows XP. Windows' XP built in remote desktop under "Help and Support", works fairly well. But I can see using programs like these for a variety of circumstances.
