| Just what I was looking for, I would of mentioned ubuntuforums.org, but I see screwballl beat me to it. For games I would recommend FreeCiv (Main Page - Freeciv.org), and finances GnuCash(Free Accounting Software | GnuCash). Both are awesome, I would rate both a solid 9/10. Main PC: Intel Pentium D 930, Asus P5LP-LE, 2GB DDR2-4300 RAM @ 4-4-4-12, Lightscribe CD/DVD Drive, DVD-ROM, 300W PSU, GeForce 7300LE, Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II, HP Media Drive Port, 300 GB Hard Drive Laptop: 900 MHz Intel Moblie CPU, 512MB RAM, 4GB SSD, Intel 910 Motherboard, Linux OS (customized by Asus), 8.8 x 6.5 x 0.9 inches, 7.0 Inch screen, integrated camera, 2.0(without power cord)/2.4 lbs.(with power cord) _________________________________________ ![]() Swat spam whereever you can! |

| Thanks for the Linux distro list Capper. I'll make a pitch here for PCLinuxOS, a terrific distribution that had its earlier roots in Mandriva/ Mandrake but that has a full-fledged life of its own for at least four years. PCLOS has a bootable LiveCD (from which you can run any time, or install to hard drive), plus multiple sub-versions like Mini-ME (smaller, lighter, can install on a removable USB drive or flash drive), MythOS (specialized for MythTV utilities), and many more specialized flavors. PCLOS has very helpful responsive & knowlegable support via their forum. PCLOS was initially KDE-centric but most Gnome & GTK apps are now available from their repository. Texstar and the PCLOS devs are readying a new PCLOS rollup for release soon. I love PCLOS, it is solid, fast, and easy even for a **** like me. Go get it! Asus P5N32E-SLI, C2D E8400 stock 3GHz w/ Zalman CNPS9500AT, 3x1GB OCZ+Crucial Ballistix DDR2 @ PC8500, Asus EN8800GT/512MB, dual-boot WinXP32 SP3 & PCLinuxOS2007 |
