| HL's Technomancer | *gasp* The blasphemy, but yes...after a brief fling with sexy new Vista, I've gone crawling back to ever faithful XP. Many reasons, a lot of programs I've got over the years don't work on 64-bit, or Vista for that matter..with no updates in sight (like Peer Guardian). SP1 continuously thrashing my installs for whatever reason. And for a few months now wonky behavior like complete system stalls, MP3s skipping, or whatever reason which is 99% the drivers. Anyw00t, Vista is still shaping up decently and I still recommend it, but I kinda missed my girl in blue. Also, "nvlddmkm.sys has recovered" free for two hours...FREE!! |

| you know it was reported peer guardian's list servers are down. also it actually doesn't do anything to "block" your IP from the RIAA. |

| HL's Technomancer | I use PeerGuardian to block adware, Pop-up, tracking servers and such at the source rather then letting them load and hoping my firewall deals with it. I plan on using nLite to make a custom disc like I did back when I had XP Home on my socket 754 system. |

| XP, the peak of microsoft's software. I really like XP, its quick, snappy and doesnt look TOO bad. My parents PC has got windows vista on it and It BSOD'ed on me within 1/2 hour of setting it up due to driver support |

| I would recommend buying Vista over XP if you had to spash da cash. But if you had a copy of both programs having upgraded to Vista after using XP for years. I would probably use XP more too. Vista still hasnt reached the point that will please the magority. I wrote in another thread "I have had only 3 or so minor issues with Vista. But since writing that, I have started to notice more and more (You kinda get used to them). About 20 in total. 1 that constantly bugs me is, WMP will not recognize a particular album as a MP3 and thus will not add it to its library. But it will play it if selected from my Music folder. | Packers Fanboi | Hmm, I still love vista64.... although I might install xp on my old socket a computer, dualboot it with ubuntu or some other distro (kinda want to try some new ones out). Guess I'm one of the lucky ones though, lol. Vista seems to just work for me. (granted, there were problems for a bit with bsods, but that's because I screwed up the registry, and it didnt like that, and I was planning on reinstalling anyways.) e6300@3.33ghz|Asus P5k-e WiFi| 4gb OCZ ReaperX|2x 3870's|1.3tb storage space|MSI tv tuner. |
