| That doesn't look legit to me, anyone could spoof address an email and http headers. I don't think the TS team would tell you to download it either. | They are getting good at the game. It is hosted on the server but I suspect it was from a hacker on the outside, probably thru XSS or an exploit from outdated PHP software. Heck may have just been a skiddie using a perl script to inject the file on there, it wouldn't be hard with a file so small, maybe even cookie poisoning. | I wouldn't trust files just because they are hosted on a legit site. In the past, I have seen some strange stuff hosted on major websites, mostly temp files left by company employees || AMD Athlon64 3800+ Venice | Asus A8N5X s939 | OCZ Premier PC3200 Du-Ch 1GB | Sapphire X1600Pro 512MB PCI-e | 1xWD 80Gb & 1xWD 250Gb Sata(s) | Antec SLK3800B Case | Enermax NoiseTaker 485W || |

| Lvl 1 College Student | 0.o wouldnt you think that some admin from teamspeak would delete that file? or deny permission of the /downloads folder, thus c-blocking the haxxors? |

1) "Team Speak" is spelled "Teamspeak". Look on the main site for clarification. 2) The wording is clumsy and vague. "It will help you to use our Team Speak servers." Uh, okay, please tell me how? 3) We "advise" you to download it? Come on. No company "advises" you to download anything. They tell you there's an upgrade or patch available, and that's it. 99.9% of the time I can spot suspicious e-mail like this, simply by taking an extra few minutes dissecting the words and language used in the e-mail. The e-mail you received Zambini sounds unprofessional, awkward and is extremely vague. | |
