That's one thing that everyone overlooked when yelping about the pricing structure, is that the OEM versions would sell for much less. That's a darn good price for Home Premium IMO...

Yeah, Home Premium is gonna be the package most people will opt for in order to get the highly anticipated Aeroglass feature at minimum cost. And Ultimate really doesn't offer much over Home Premium.

But why have the different versions for 32-bit and 64-bit? Can't the 64-bit run 32-bit applications and hardware? Seems like most people will opt for the 64-bit, or am I missing something here?

No, just as you can't run 32-bit hardware/drivers on XP-64. You can read more tidbits HERE.

I will be waiting for a 64-bit version. No way am I going to spend that kind of money on a 32 bit OS that is slower then XP. I ran XP 64 bit and software support was bad.

Software developers need to catch and FAST.

Some 32-bit games will run in 64-bit OS. I ran FarCry...

Great read in that link, thanks!

So this just boggles my mind... A brand new operating system redesigned from the ground up is still going to be crippled with poor support and compatability in 64-bit? Why bother?! Can Vista 32-bit and 64-bit be compared to the choice between Windows XP 32-bit and Windows 64-bit in terms of how much support there will be and how worth while it is?
