Freaking Windows Urrrrr

Right in the middle of putting together a media pc for a customer early this morning, and my system starts just rebooting for no aparent reason!!!!

Well low and behold, Windows takes a big honking sh*t!!!! Imagine that

God, sometimes I just hate Microsoft!!!!

Of course it could be that I was talking to Panda Man also
At least back up and running now

Well just when I thought that I could load windows, get steam up and go gaming when the time came, oooops Windows takes another big sh*t!!!!

Na, this time it wasn't windows, and it wasn't to begine with, it was my damn video card!!!! urrrrrr

Well needless to say, now I am on my old 2800+ with the 6600gt video card, since I do not have another Pci-E card until I can get this BFG 7600 RMAed through either newegg or the manufacture.

Damn the luck!!! I just now got the other system put back together, and windows loaded, and now installing steam and updating CS:S

I was having a heck of a hard time installing Windows 98 on a friends computer. Each time I did, it kept giving me WSoD's (remember those white dialog screens on Win9x?). I couldn't find all the drivers I needed either. I eventually gave up on Win98 and installed Ubuntu 6.10 on it. Ubuntu came with every driver I needed and every application the person wanted (and Wine for whatever she needs later). Gosh I love Linux

Yea, I just wish I knew a little bit more about it, and it was a better gaming OS!

Well, it wouldn't take much to learn more about it. I've got another article on the subject coming out soon, but you could give it a spin yourself. In the past, I wouldn't have recommended Ubuntu, but I was very impressed with the latest release. If you want to learn more about Linux, just download their LiveCD. If you like what you see from the live mode, install it to an extra partition/HDD to check out the rest of it (such as the 3D desktop and PPR ) Ubuntu comes with the Gnome Partition Editor, so you can even resize your Windows partition to make room for it. It's really cool!
