Alright. When you download Memtest86+ it should be a .iso file. An iso file is basically an image file of the program.
Once you download the .iso file go and download MagicIso. I use this program whenever i need to burn .iso files. Install it then run it.
Go to Tools (top bar) then Burn CD/DVD with ISO. Select the ISO file and burn the CD.

Keep the disk in your system and restart your system. Make sure in the BIOS you have the CD drive as your first boot item. When your system is starting up it will boot from the disk and start memtest86+.

Good luck.

Yep, that should work. I found it suprisingly easy and it works great. I'm sure you will have the same success

Just one thing... memtest86 is originated as an error dectection program, not really a benchmark. It could in a way be called a benchmark, if your system passes error free after an overclock.

Hi, Lead Head showed me the site, I thought it had lots of potential and so I joined.
I use an obscure but cool OS called BeOS, and I hate microsoft and IE.
System:
Motherboard AsRock K7S41GX
CPU AMD AHLDA 1Ghz TB 112Mhz FSB
3 HDDs, 1 60GB Fujitsu, 1 40GB seagate, 1 10GB samsung
RAM 512MB Corsair Value Select
OS: BeOS R5 + BONE installation.
GPU MX440 agp4x NV17 64MB ram.

Yes, you're right X, but I think just mis spoke himself trying to look for the right word and just said "benchmark" instead.

However, Memtest86+ could be used as a benchmark because it does estimate some bandwidth for whatever particular settings you have. I've seen it jump around a lot while changing just a single RAM timing.
