Norton Ghost, makes exact images of disc, or can do incremental backups. You can choose to split archives for easy archiving ect.

Although Norton's Ghost does well, I prefer to backup my files manually. Copy and paste.

Also, a restored Ghost image will not boot on another PC, nor will it boot if you have changed your mobo and/or CPU.

Microsoft and WD have some nice backup utilities too.

That's not true about the CPU. And Win98 boots on about every machine w/o a problem. WinNT 5.1 and other though won't handle the chipset change, but luckily enough you can problably boot it if you're trying on a VIA chipset.

If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you?

Next time I install Win98, I'll keep that in mind

Also, it may not be true for every time you change processors, but it is possible, just as it is possible to ruin your mbr while overclocking. Of course, it's very easy to fix for WinXP.

Good luck w/ Acronis - I've come to despise that program. When I tried to use it recently, it kept saying my images were corrupt, which made the program useless. You can read my thread here ---> LINK
