Default Avant Browser

Always looking for new things to try, I stumbled across this last night.
Avant Browser::Home
Expecting something like Safari, instead I'm quite surprised. While I don't know about it's "fastest browser on Earth" claims, it is speedy. I'm still testing it out, but in loading the HL homepage it's about 1/3 faster then Firefox, and seems to wait and load everything at once instead of each individual image. The amount of options and customization is crazy, but Firefox still has the add-ons. If you try it out, right click, go to Customize, Mouse, Mouse Gestures and try those out. They work. Uses about half the memory on my system as Firefox too. Gotta play with it some more.

It's Internet Exploder, with add-ons.

I like it alot better then IE, but so far I'm having problems with certain things loading. The forums for example, the little white arrows for dropdown menus seem to load half the time and give a red X at others. Also Ctrl-T opens a new tab but loads the last page you visited, kinda annoying. Alot of things I like, but so far Firefox dominates it.

Thing is, the bugs within IE core stick with Avant. Really, it's just IE with add-ons. So yes, it's just as compatible as IE, but it's also just as secure as IE, which isn't the most renowed browser for security...

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Yup, it's an IE shell, albeit a good one. Maxthon (formerly MyIE2) is another one, as well as CrazyBrowser (my personal favorite IE shell).

Perssonally, when I had it on my PC, I used it a grand total of 3 times. Wasn't worth the space it used IMHO.

I used Avant Browser a while back and it was pretty nice. It is, like everyone said, just IE with a different interface. I finally realized that Firefox did everything I wanted Avant to do without the reliance on IE, so here I am...

All the tests I've read place Opera at the top. I've never tried it though. Guess I've really come to love Firefox with all its great add-ons and am willing to sacrifice a bit of speed in exchange for convenience and customization.
