| I've been noticing this over the past few days. Every once in a while, especially while I'm typing on forums, it clicks out of the browser. It's not minimizing, but focuses on something else (it JUST happened). I don't know the proper terming for this... But I was just playing NFS: Carbon and it keeps minimizing nearly every 3-5 minutes... I quit already, but what is causing this. It changes the open window to something, something that is running in the background. I just don't know what.... I'm posting my current running processes... You can also see my slideshow background of my niece... . Anyone have an idea? BTW, this is spread amongst two screens (just a little) because I couldn't fit into one. ![]() ![]() - Core 2 Quad Q6600 - DFI Infinity 975X - 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800 - 250GB Seagate 7200.10RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM - ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB - Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W - Acer 19" P191W Monitor - Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution - Vista Ultimate x64 |

| The Real Final Word | For one, you might shut down your slide show before launching a game. It could be the problem. Not sure what program you are using for your slide show, but I ran into a similar problem on a customers system, and all I had to do was stop the slide show ![]() |

| Sorry for the late response... Stinger, I tried that. I closed the program before I started it up. But it still minimizes... I'm deleting it right now to see if it helps. - Core 2 Quad Q6600 - DFI Infinity 975X - 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800 - 250GB Seagate 7200.10RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM - ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB - Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W - Acer 19" P191W Monitor - Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution - Vista Ultimate x64 |

| Try uninstalling the game software and reinstalling it. Also look for patches for the game. |

| You could always use msconfig to have a selective startup and see if turning off some items running in the background helps. Shut down google desktop, itunes, ipodservices, etc (not pointing a finger to anything in particular) It's better than uninstalling, because it' just a check box and reboot to get it back. ____________________________ _= AMD 2700+ OC'd to 3200 =_ -=1GB RAM, ATI 9600XT 512MB=- -------------------------------- |

| Thanks guys. Joker, it's not just this game... It does it other games too. I think it's stopped now. I just deleted a few programs I install recently. I post back with a update in a bit. I'll try some NFS. - Core 2 Quad Q6600 - DFI Infinity 975X - 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800 - 250GB Seagate 7200.10RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM - ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB - Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W - Acer 19" P191W Monitor - Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution - Vista Ultimate x64 |

Well, I'm going to point. Restart your computer. By the clock you should have quick time - right click the icon and select prefs. You want to stop it from loading with windows. You have a lot of crap loading with windows - going to msconfig, clicking on the startup tab; scroll down to the bottom - maybe take some screenies of what you see. Not sure if the iTunes needs to start with windows - my guess is not. You also have a few google entries - do you really use any of it? starwindservice.exe - Process Name: Alcohol 120% StarWind - do you use this regularly? bitcomet.exe - bitcomet.exe is a process belonging to BitTorrent Client. This program is a non-essential process Wave Master: Gigabyte GA-7NNXP, Barton 3200, 1 gig PC3200, BFG 6800, Ultra X-Finity 600W, DVDRW, 750 Zip 80, 160 & 200 gig hard drives Dual Xeon folder: SilverStone SST-TJ05S-X, Gigabyte GA-9ITDW, Intel Xeon 3.2 Irwindale 800MHz x2, Geil 1 GB DDR2 PC2 4300x2, BFG 6600 GT OC, Ultra X-Finity 600W, DVDRW, Akasa AllInOne, WD Caviar RAID Edition 120x2, Win XP MC 05 | |

| Well, it turns out it must have been one of those programs I uninstalled. I'm positive, however, that it was the startup entry of the Wallpaper Slideshow. For me, I use iTunes every moment of my life, so yes, that's always there. Plus, it doesn't start up when I turn on the computer. I open it on my own. As for BitComet, it too doesn't start up with the computer. I was downloading something apparently. - Core 2 Quad Q6600 - DFI Infinity 975X - 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800 - 250GB Seagate 7200.10RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM - ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB - Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W - Acer 19" P191W Monitor - Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution - Vista Ultimate x64 |
