Another Vista question

Hey again,
Now that im up and running again, I have another little issue with Vista that has been driving me insane. I am running dual monitors, yet vista only "sometimes" detects both. It will take 3 or 4 restarts and sometimes reinstalling the video drivers before it registers my second monitor. Im using the up to date gforece 8800gts drivers straight from Nvidia's website. Any ideas how I can actually get vista to keep my video settings?

After playing with this and reading some more ive tried a few more things:
When I unplug the monitor(secondary) and then plug it back in-vista finds it(kinda). I can then select "extend windows onto the monitor" and it will actually apply it. The only thing is, it wont actually find the monitor. It doesnt have the right resolution or refresh rate and just labels it "digital display." So I then tried reinstalling the drivers once again, this time with the secondary monitor displaying something, even if it was only saying "digital display." After I went through the motions again, no dice. Same crap.

I then disabled TMM and still nothing. I still can only use a messed up display on my good display, if anything.
