| I am finally getting paid next month, and am looking at what i want to get. I am planning to buy everything on the budget recomendation from hL(thanks!), except i will get the 7900 GT because i plan to go widescreen9thanks Drew), but i already have a good case, I am not sure what the brand is, but my brother has it, and runs a good system and it doesnt overheat or anything. so i don't want to pay $100 for something i already have. So, what would be the best PSu for the cheapest? I am on a budget, and with the 7900 and my new monitor it will cost me about $900(with no PSU). so what do you guys think? I am currently running on a Dell lattitude Laptop with a pentium III 733MHz processor. This is Temporary as I save money to build a good computer. |

| I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | You'll undoubtedly get recommendations for anything Antec (which are solid), but the best deal currently IMO can be found on Monarch Computers: OCZ 600w GameXstream SLI - $101 shipped (after $10 MIR) Quad +12V rails, active PFC, quiet, and backed by some of the best customer support out there. It was not that long ago that I paid close to $200 for the 600w Powerstream (which preceeded the new GameXstream series)... |

| Functional Alcoholic | I am a die hard Enermax fan. There PSU tend to be a tad more expensive then other PSUs. The only problems I have ever had with Enermax were self inflected. You plug any PSU into a 220 socket without switching it over from 110 and it will blow. So that’s not Enermax fault. |

| The Real Final Word | Just to back up what hitman said, Enermax makes very good PSU's. Here is a link that you might just want to check out http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=270402 535w for $89.99 plus you get a $20.00 mail in rebate, and free shipping. Plus it is all SLi ready and SATA ready. This is a great buy :D |

| I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | I suppose a list of the 'good guys' would be appropriate here. In no particular order: OCZ Antec Enermax Seasonic Fortron Source / Sparkle Tagan PC Power & Cooling (the Rolls-Royce of PSUs, and priced accordingly) |

| I've wasn't a fan of OCZ's early power supply offerings like the Modstream. Their newer PSUs like the Powerstream and the Gamestream are much better and suitable for enthusiast rigs like ours. For most systems I build, I like to go with Antec. They provide solid performance and reliability and a good price. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 |

| If you are going to get an OCZ, get a Fortron. Fortron makes the OCZ PSU's, ontop of that Fortrons are cheaper. Opteron 64 165--1.5GB DDR--ECS KA1 MVP(thanks HL!)--x1800GTO 256MB--Seagate 320GB SATA--Antec 550 Watt--Antec P180 |
