the kind of power you'll need for near future quad sli and crossfire setups.

yeah but this is 1/5 bigger than that one. I wonder how efficient this is going to be.

I think your math is a little off. 1/5 is a fraction and is the same as .2 or 20%.

I think what you meant to say is that the Tt 1500W PSU is 1.5 times (or 150%) as powerful as the 1000W PC Power & Cooling PSU.

I just can't see possibly needing that much power. Those with the quad GPU setups that think you need this much power, you are probably never even going to see the benefits of quad GPU anyway!
Sorry, just a little bit of a rant. It's just that this whole "more GPUs the better" philosophy is just getting under my skin and I think it is not the right way to go about getting better graphics power...

Ok let me rant/

Giant PSU, they are a waste for about 99% of enthusiast. Seriously
I ran X1800XT 1024mb CrossFire 700/800 with a Pentium D 920 clocked at 4.2ghz. Also ran 3-10k rpm raptors, 2-80gb SATA drives, 2 plextor DVDRW, high performance Delta 120mm, 10.6w water pump. This ran on 510w of REAL power, that is the PC Power & Cooling 510. The PSU was almost at it's limit, but how much more can you have in a system than what I listed? Yes quad SLI is 4 cards, but we all know ATI cards are power hogs, same can be said for a Pentium D @ 4.2ghz.

I can see using a 800w+ unit for OCing Pentium D @ 6ghz while runing X1900Crossfire under DICE and an array of 15k scsi drives, but anything less, it's a waste. I guarantee of these super PSU, the only one that's any good are PC Power & Cooling 850SSi and 1KW<--because it's a sick psu, nuff said'.

/end rant

yeah, but then two conditions would occur:

1. you would have to put the monster in cryo-stasis permanently

and

2. you would have to "court" Bill Gates to keep the power bill paid, rofl

Think I'll just stick with humbler hardware, for now, heheh

I'm going to start building my own dam so I'll be able to power my next computer.
