Default HSPC Techbench

I saw Tyreals Tech Bench at the PicGallery awhile ago, and now I want one!! With the GeminII covering the whole top part of my mobo, it's become a real hassle to change parts and such. What are your thoughts on it? Pros? Cons? Should I get one?

If you frequently swap out parts, they're really convenient. And the new version (which you pictured) moved the mobo tray to the top, which is a great move on their part.

The downside, of course, is your system is exposed to the elements and day-to-day clumsiness. Knock a glass of pop over and you can kiss your system goodbye.

As I said before, my GeminII really is a PITA when doing anything inside the case, so I really like this "case". I'm not that worried about spilling anything on it, as my comp room is nice and clean.

Is it worth the $80?

The $80 version is the standard size, the large version runs $140. I reviewed and own the original in large, so without seeing the standard size in person, it's hard to tell. With the mobo tray being up top though, I don't imagine the smaller size would be a major issue.

Still, is it worth it? That's for you decide, young yellow one!

Woohoo!!
I like being yellow!!

I think I will get the "Top Deck" Standard version.

The only difference between the standard and the large versions is that the large version supports EATX boards, right?

OK, I just found this case on Xoxide: Sunbeam Acrylic UFO Cube Case - Clear

Seems like a more permanent alternative to the HSPC. The only thing I wory about is if I upgrade to, say a 8800GTS, it might not fit. Thoughts on it?

I think you have bigger problems than an oversize videocard with that case. Acrylic is a nasty, finnicky material. Don't treat it just right and it can split, crack or discolor. Personally, I'd save your money and get something else...

why don't you just get a nice case, like every other normal human?
(paul i don't consider you normal, don't worry)

how olften do you swap components?
i really don't see how taking the sidepanel off is going to create enough extra work...because honestly, the gemini II is big, but common....

Even just to unplug the power to the mobo, I have to take the GeminII off.

Actually, the biggest reason I want to get this case is because I want a case with a horizontal mobo tray becase of the weight of the GeminII.

Hahaha sweet! The HSPC is extremely convenient for me especially when I am tweaking or modifying parts on my system. If I decide to mod my case, I can just move all my parts onto it and it's ready to go. Better than laying them on old motherboard boxes.

The reason I got one is because I could never find the "Perfect Case" for myself. I needed something that looked modern but not flashy. Alot of room for watercooling but not HUGE. I recently went on the search for a new case and I think I may have found what I've been looking for:
The Tagan Black Pearl.

I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220
