Default Gigabyte iSolo 210 Case Review

Sleek and stylish, simple and affordable. These are words not often used together to describe a computer case, and many regard the case as just a metal box to hold the real goodies inside. Yet, when crafted right, the chassis can be the eye catcher of the room, setting itself up to be a real showpiece. Gigabyte tries to do just that with the iSolo 210, and HardwareLogic is on the "case" to see if it delivers.

Great review... alot of the information provided there also relates to the SonataII and many other mid tower cases
and looking at Newegg, they are $99 which is decent

The difference though is that the Sonata cases come with a solid PSU for the same price as the iSolo. But if you don't need a PSU, it looks like a decent case, I like how the rear 120mm fan cable is secured out of the way along the top of the motherboard tray and is long enough to reach the front of the case, I am always frustrated with fan cables being too short. Thanks for the review Daniel!

the only problem I see with that is that if that fan dies, you have to remove the entire mobo just to remove that one fan and its cable... I know its rare but it is a legitimate worry. Also if I find a power wire too short I just cut it and make it longer, I am decent with a soldering gun and electrical tape

Doesn't look like it is underneath the motherboard, just running along the top edge. Maybe stormcrow can chime in here and tell us what the retention mechanism is like for this cable?

Good call, but most people won't feel comfortable doing this, let alone have a soldering gun.

Both the fans are low voltage, and run off a single 4-pin connector. The cable runs along the top right under where the PSU would be, held in place by zip ties...so you can easily swap out the fans incase one dies. Since they get their power from only one fan header, they're both silent but aren't too swift on moving air. My system went up 10 degrees from a Centurion 5 with high power TT fans, so thats why I labeled it for a low end or modest user.

Well written article! Was suprised to see the lack of cable management options with a case as nice as this. I realize that this may not be a deal breaker to some people, but when it comes to wire routing and cable management, it's just one of those things that I automatically look for in an enclosure.
