Default CosmosS finally at Newegg

Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER cosmosS RC-1100-KKN1-GP Black Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Retail

If you thought the original was awesome, check this baby out in black. Hope my keyboard doesn't short from drooling on it.

$250 is getting up there in price, but at $50 over the original I'd snap it up in a heartbeat, looks like CM listened to it's customers and modified the top to allow an internal 320mm radiator. Kick ass. The only thing that comes close to this would be the new Armor+
Newegg.com - Thermaltake ArmorPlus(Armor+) VH6000BWS Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Retail

I'm finishing up the review this week.......its a very nice case.

I want to clear up a big misconception...It will NOT support an internal 3x120mm radiator. I spent a couple of hours trying to make it work, but the only way you'd be able to do it is to not use the top 3 5.25" drive bays.....something I don't consider feasible. That doesn't take into consideration a res, optical drives, etc, either.

On its own merits, its a very nice case, and it addresses a few of the issues that cropped up with the original.....but it has a few flaws that left me scratching my head.

Hmm, THAT is a misconception considering it was one of the big major rehauls people were looking forward too. The top mount system could work with a 2x120mm I'm assuming though, right?

The radiator is a tough fit, because a 3x120mm rad will block the top couple of 5.'25" drive bays, and a 2x120mm radiator will put the barbs right at the edge of the motherboard, possibly causing problems with the power cable and other cables.

To me at least, I think Cooler Master really missed an opportunity here.....they could have made the top section a bit bigger and allowed for the radiator to be put there instead, with the radiator holes or a slot placed at the end to allow for the tubing, as the top is at a slope, there is a lot of wasted space.

Also keep in mind, that radiator I have mounted above doesn't have the fans attached, which will make it even thicker. one option is to mount the radiator inside the main chamber, then mount a pair of fans on the top, between the cover and the fan grills.

Nice case, but a little too pricey for my likes.

Its a very nice case....my only real issue is the paint job....it is very easy to scratch, and the finish is not finger print friendly.

I also think this case is a LOT different than the Cosmos, and really deserved its own name.....it shares the same frame and look, but it doesn't have the noise dampening features the Cosmos has, nor the storage layout or capacity...it puts a much higher emp[hasis on cooling though.

Glad to see that there's some active HDD cooling this time around and they got rid of those gay ass HDD trays that were bitch to install and remove. I am sad to see that Coolermaster decided to let the door go though. =(
