Default Antec NeoHE 500W Power Supply Problems

as i mentioned above... i'm starting to suspect my PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103940
dying already, i'm having problems with boot up, unable to start at a single push of I/O, both the case and the PSU I/O switch itself...

PSU Fan starting to slowdown, it even stopped spinning one time...

anyone has ideas if its really dying on me or not??? is there something wrong with it or its just my OC of my Cpu lately...

appreciate opinions guys...

STOP using that PSU immediately. I'm not kidding bro. If it is going bad, it can take out every component in your whole system if it goes poof real bad!

You could go to Circuit City or some place like that and buy a $15 PSU tester to see if it at least tests out ok.

Anytime I have a doubt about a PSU, I pull it out of the system. I fried one system a ways back because i was standing there thinking, "I wonder if the PSU is going out?" Then there was a squeal, a puff of smoke from the back of the case and the entire computer was dead. Not one component survived. Not even my brand new, $89 28.8k modem!

Yep!!!! Don't take a chance on frying several hundred bucks worth of system just to question if the PSU is going bad or not!!!

I have to tell ya, this is like the 3rd Antec power supply that I have seen in the last week that has issues
That statistic is insane!!! I mean all of the ones that I have seen have been some of there "performance" type PSU's!!!

Yeah, if the fan is going out already, there's likely some other problems to go with it. Even if it tests out ok, I'd still RMA that thing.

There pretty good about RMAing them but it's not a fast prosses.
I'm speaking from experance. My Neo480 went out. Got a HE 550 that was not compatible with my ASUS, and now have a truepower 550 and a 430.

what is going on with antec... thats a lot of issues, i'll probably consider RMA this thing as soon as i can afford a replacement...

as off now, i haven't had a lock up in booting and reset, no slow down with the fan, as if everything was fine like the first time its out of the box... this is since 2 days ago when it last happened...

i hope it would last till i find a replacement...
