Wow.. highest rated ign game ever

Grand Theft Auto 4 just got a 10/10 for 360. I have never seen that happen..

Anyone play it/ have any comments? i was not going to buy it, and i still am skeptical of it being hyped up.

very true... love the ads all over the place for this game... thats like HL having Gigabyte ads all over and giving a decent board a 99/100 when it deserves a 80

If you are skeptical, join the crowd. What's a 10/10 for one reviewing agency, is certainly not deemed a 10/10 or "perfect score" to others. Personally, there is nothing, tangible or intangible, that is considered "perfect". A 10/10 score? Please. Even a game like Bioshock didn't receive a perfect score yet that single game won more awards and accolades than I can shake a stick at.

However, I digress. The point is that IGN has a job to do, which is review games and render a verdict. Much like shopping for new computer equipment, it's up to you to do the "real" research and find out if it's right for you. But yes, I tend to agree with the sentiments voiced by others here: IGN is a suspect reviewing agency, prone to giving out "feel good" verdicts based purely on hotly antipicated titles everyone is waiting for.

I've not seen HL give a product a higher rating than it deserves because of ad's though. Dunno if that's what you were implying, but it could easily be taken that way.

well i picked up a copy yesterday, but only had a chance to dl and update for my PS3. i'm going to give it a go this evening - hopin for some violent...errr, i mean good times

I don't think that's what he was implying, likely that certain IGN reviews might be 'bought', unlike HL.
