| Modder-ator | I'm looking for a new game to try and I'm thinking of picking up my old RTS habit that died with Emperor: Battle for Dune. From those of you who have played Supreme Commander and World in Conflict, which did you like better? |

| No Sanity, no problem. | I can't say for sure about World in Conflict, but definitely stay away from Supreme Commander, it's gotta be the most over rated game I've ever played. Asus P5N32-SLI SE Delux Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 XFX Nvidia GeForce 7900GT OCZ Gold 1Gig (2x512) PC2 6400 Ultra Aluminum Blue Full Tower ATX Case Ultra Connect X 2 Wire Modular 550w PSU |

| HL's Technomancer | Overrated, how so? I love SupCom, has to be one of the best RTS games I've played. Simply the scale and the ease of managing resources and units in the game makes it a top choice, I can't stand playing RTS games that don't have a building queue like SupCom does now. Both WiC and SupCom are good, but it's hard to compare the two. SupCom is massive, with upwards of thousands of units battling it out on a single map and all out war, while WiC is more of a tactical strategy using small scale ground troops to complete objectives with artillery and air strikes for back up. Personally, I'd go with SupCom. It's an amazing game, if you get a kick out of fighting multiple fronts across a whole continent with a crapton of different units. If you prefer smaller scale tactical RTS, the WiC is the way to go. Both of them are great in their own ways. |

| Modder-ator | I usually like larger scale battles rather than small and tactical but was worried that SupCom might almost be TOO big. It sounds like you think otherwise though, eh? It's all still manageable then on that large of a scale? Is there much of a learning curve involved with Supreme Commander? |

| HL's Technomancer | It feels too big at first, but once you get into it and start playing with a crappy AI opponent, it's really easy to control and learn the game. Takes about 30 minutes to get used to it, but even after playing for months I'm still finding new strategies to use with the different factions and units. Thats what I love about the game, is how easy it is to manage the practical empire you'll be building. Like with the mouse wheel, you can scroll out to a orbital view of the entire map, and the zoom into certain spots like battles or building areas. Theres only two resources in the game, mass and energy, which are interchangable and can either be gather from the planet itself (trees, deposits to build extractors, or even the wrecks of fallen units) which is faster and gives more, or you can build generators to produce them which gives less but can be built and guarded more easily. So theres only two resources to worry about, but many ways to go about securing them. The battles are something else. Imagine building a fortification around your base, when enemy battleships start pounding your structures from the coastline a quarter of the way across the map. You scramble your bombers by double clicking on one of them to highlight them all to take them out, when 150 enemy seige bot units appear right in the middle of your zone, having crept into your base undetected using a mobile cloaking generator. As you fight them off, a huge laser pounds through your shields and takes out several generators, which set off a chain reaction plowing through a few factories. The enemy has just finished building a heavy artillery thats wasting you from across the entire map. That happened to me last night, it's intense but well within your grasp to easily control and manage it. I ended up winning the game by sneaking out of my base with a few forces using my own cloaking generator, and while they were busy taking out my old base I built a new one on the other side and managed to get up a Czar, or a giant spaceship that looks like the ones from Independence Day, and has the same kind of laser attack. Wiped the enemy commander with it who went off like a nuclear explosion, haha. |

| I played the World in Conflict demo, absolutely loved it. I'm getting kind of tired of the third-person games though, I may have to try my hand at a FPS like COD4. |
