| I hired this game out, seems alright but, it's seems to be real buggy, i mean i can't even get it to run in full screen... upon loading when it says CLIENT:Syncronizing it freeze for a while, then the PC resets. I've downloaded the 1.0001 and 1.0003 patches and still no luck.(have to run in window mode, which doesn't bode well on my 19" CRT) Also when the lights are supposed to flicker or move from a swaying lamp, it doesn't really work. Anyway I looked on some stalker mod sites, but couldn't see anything. Anyone know of a patch or fix? | HL's Technomancer | Getting a crash at CLIENT:Synchronizing means that something is wrong with the game engine, and the files its loading are either corrupt or conflicting like with mods. XP is supposed to run the game fine though, running it on Vista gives it loads of problems. Try uninstalling it, reinstalling, defragging your HDD and then applying the patches. The game itself is awesome, if you can get past the bugs and random dips to 0 FPS while running. Stay away from the mods though, I havent gotten any to work to the point they don't crash the engine at synchronizing |

| Well i havn't actually run into any bugs ingame yet(besides the light thing, which isn't really that big a deal, only saw it when you leave the trader guys bunker at the beginning) When i installed it, it would come up with a windows bug report, and woudn't even go to the main menu, so i uninstalled, then reinstalled it and it gets to main menu. About the crash, it only crashes in fullscreen, It loads fine in windowed mode, would that still have something to do with the game engine? --- I was just walking then just like died, i think it was one of those anomalie things....good stuff Intel E6320 1.86GHz Gigabyte 965P-DS3P Corsair 2GB 800MHz XFX 8800 GTS 320MB 250GB Seagate- 750GB WD Antec 900 OCZ GameXtream 700w ThermalTake Big Typhoon VX Windows XP Professional SP2 Razer Deathadder Mouse 24" Widescreen Acer Moniter |

| HL's Technomancer | Ah! Your running an 8800, ok. The game engine has all kinds of glitches with the G80, random crashes and texture/lighting problems. It's with nVidia's drivers and the patches, they're still trying to sort them out but the game producer is caught up with the prequel Clear Sky. There may be some mods that address the issues, I haven't looked into it. Also, yeah. If you just randomly die, anomaly! Listen for the beep of your PDA being affected by the spatial flux around them, the faster it beeps the closer you are. Also, press 6 to bring up bolts, you have an endless supply, and throwing them in front of you is a huge help for navigating around an anomaly field. Night vision helps a ton too, I just leave it on cause the game is so dark. |
