Default Red Orchestra

Have any of you heard of Red Orchestra? Steam's having a free full-game (timed) trial in a couple days. I just finished pre-loading it. It looks pretty good, and I can't wait to play it :)

I preloaded it too. Looks to be just another in a long long line of mediocre WW2 FPSs, but it's free so I'll try it out.

I played it briefly on Pandaman's comp, he bought the full version. It's on par with Call of Duty IMO, though he could tell you plenty more about. Seems to take up a lot of his time actually.....

Steam had the same game for a trial time mid to late summer, as I recall. I had made a post about then, and preloaded it that time and played for a bit. I don't think that I would buy the game myself.

It does remind me a lot of call of duty, and that type of game.

Stinger's post count is EVIL!

Oh yea, the game. Its pretty damn fun, the only game I have ever played that 2 tanks were firing at each other, one shot failed to pierce, bounced off, hit me and killed me

The maps are huge, it tries its best to stay as close to real life as it can. The game itself still isn't quite complete yet, they're still adding things. Long story short, this game is inthe top 15 of my favorite game list.

Btw, this game is much slower paced than CoD. Also, there is no crosshairs - Ironsights only. Not to mention there is not health bar, its area damage. I've been hit once in the chest and died, yet I've also gone total bad ass before and go shot 3 times in the legs, once in the arm, had my main weapon shot out of my hand, and still got away before the satchel charge I placed on a Tiger exploded!

You can also fix bayonets if you want, and you have to click fire again to pull the bolt back - very useful for seeing if you got your kill or in close quarters.

I think I like that concept of health better than %. It's more realistic :)

I've been waiting for this for months.

I never got a chance to play it @ my cousin's house. I always pondered whether I should buy it or not. this will tell me my answer =P

I've never played the stand alone, but I have played the UT2k4 Mod. It's aesthetically pleasing but the gameplay was to tedious for me to get into.
