Wooooohoooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! I heard rumors it was going to be released soon.

Take me and Zambini's word: PR is the best mod out there for BF2.

There are few things anger me about this release. One is that you must download from fileplanet and wait for almost an hour. Why not filefront! I'm guessing BSS probably has a contract with fileplanet so they can make some mula. The other is that they do not have a patch from 0.75 to 0.8.

The Core is HUGE so there must be a ton of new vehicles, weapons, all that.

Zambini: three other reasons to have BF2, Allied Intent, Sandbox, and POE2.

That's probably why they're with FilePlanet, but it doesn't matter because its available everywhere else afterwards. But since I have an FP membership I got it in 5 minutes. lol.

I unfortunately haven't played it yet though. And my cousin said its completely new ("Doesn't even feel like BF2 anymore" is what he said), so they had to reinstall the engine and stuff versus just patching it.

and I've played POE2, it was my favorite mod until PR :P

POE 2 2.5 is out...PR still uses the BF2 engine, and it seems to be moderate updates to the engine (they use a separate executable as a workaround to use customizable shaders afaik). One thing I don't like about 0.8 is the run times are horrible, and the game menus are messed up, you can't see a thumbnail of the map of a server you click on, and you can't change the audio volume while you're in a game.

I am a Project Reality addict. Have been for a while now. That is why I came here to build a new system (ok, for work too). If you are into combat sims, or FPS, or even RPG, you should give this a try. This new version made the game even more realistic, if that was possible. YOu have to get acclimated to the style of play, it is not run and gun. But the firefights/strategy/combat is intense. I lost hours of my life with this game. My WoW buddy said I talk about it like Wow folks do...

I have to give some props to my brotherhood...Tactical Gamer. This is not a clan, but a community with ALL mature players and they make this game a real, real good time. Check them out when you play PR, COD4, CS:S, BF2 2142 etc. I am a fanbooy. This community got me hooked, and it is free, with excellent run servers. Check it out.

NEW BUILD thanks to HL:

Asus Maximus Formula x38
E8400 3.0 GHz
EVGA 8800 GTS (G92) 512 mb KO 678 GHz
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500 gb
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 250 gb

Funny you would mention TG I just joined a couple weeks ago. What is your handle there? They seem to have there sheet together. Haven't played PR yet or w/TGers but looking forward to it. I saw that TG is one of PR's partners too.

You've come to the right place for that help start a thread and let us know what your thinking about unless you already have. Lots of very helpful friendly folks around here!

BTW Nice handle Stevie Ray Vaughn is my all time favorite Musician.
