Default problem with NFSU2

everytime i run the game it not only minimize the game but shuts it off the game and i tried reinstalling and doing a clean install...
even with the XP clean install and its not doing a thing...

i've read wtcnbrwndo4u's thread on the game minimizing and tried the suggestions there and it didn't work either... it doesn't do it to other game just the NFSU2, i did the latest patch too and it didnt help either....

well i'm posting my running program...

Man, that system idle process is taking up everything!

--j/k

did you try killing the yahoo services to make sure they don't have anything to do with it?
Also check your version of direct X from microsoft, it runs in my mind that NFSU2 takes 9.0c, maybe even run dxdiag to make sure no problems are found in the tests it runs. I'm going to assume you updated your video drivers, etc... but did you think about using a step backward? I've had issues with newer drivers on occasion, so sometimes it's worth a try.

Also, any errors showing in the event log?

Well firstly is this a legal copy? Cause i know from experience that downloaded ones can do some strange things to a computer. I agree with Cyberlon about those yahoo services, on my old computer i had some programs like norton do that to me. But the whole totally shutting the progam off is weird.
