Default Oblivion Saved Games Location...

It's been one of those mornings. After benchmarking another motherboard, I put my hard drive back into my main rig and proceeded to restore an image of the primary partition. I had previously been using Norton's Ghost for such tasks in the past, but recently switched to Acronis True Image. That move bit me in the ass today, as both images I had were deemed corrupt.

Anyway, it's been a mess of PC problems this morning that are finally getting sorted out. About the only items that weren't backed up to another drive were my Oblivion saved games. In what will most likely be a vain attempt, I figured I'd try to get them back with a data recovery program such as File Scavenger. To help the process along, can one of you RPG junkies let me know the exact location in which they're found, as well as the file names?

Thanks much...

I'm in love, and her name is File Scavenger. This is the second time in about 3 years that Quetek's file recovery program has prevented a headache from turning into a migraine. I was able to recover the the saved game files - some were corrupt but many were usable, including the second to most recent saved game. Groovy.

For anyone curious, they're located in:

Grats on recovering your game saves. I just picked up Oblivion myself the other day, but haven't had time to play it.

On a side note, I have been using Norton Ghost exclusively for my backup duties many years now. It has never failed me, and I wouldn't think of ever switching to anything else. Is the program that you are using better that Ghost, One4u?

In my limited experience with Acronis True Image, the answer is no. Norton Ghost has been good to me in the past as well and to be honest, I can't recall what prompted me to give Acronis a shot. They say third time's a charm, but after witnessing both images turn up corrupt, I'm not giving Acronis the benefit of the doubt.

I am troubled that you are having problems with your backup program. Personally, it would take me a helluva bad experience for me to switch to something else from Norton Ghost.
