| hey guys, i'm building a new gaming system and i wanted to set a side maybe 100 bucks or so for a good gaming keyboard and mouse. I really like the looks of the g15 but i'm starting to drift away from it (i mean is the little lcd screen rly worth the extra bucks). For a mouse i rly like the mx518 but im totally open to any suggestions thnx Edit: any of u guys a fan of the PZ30AU it seems like a good price for its quality Last edited by Wargazm; May 24th, 2008 at 10:07. |

| I own a G15 and I love it. I have to admit that the LCD isn't worth much, though. I hardly ever used it. It ended up breaking anyway (it was my fault, it didn't break under normal wear and tear). 99% of the applets for the LCD are written by users, so that directly lends itself to little support and no guarantees. LCD ended up more trouble than it was worth. But for the rest of the keyboard, love it. I really use my "g keys" a lot; They are primarily a built in macro function to set the g keys to a single key, a key combination, a timed series of key presses, or even set to shortcuts. If you want to save yourself at least 50 bucks, download a macro editor, "Hotkeys" by QLiner, and buy some luminescent wire to lay beneath your keys and you have the exact keyboard and most of its glory. ^^. From what I recall, the Saitek wasn't around when I went out to buy myself a nifty keyboard, so there weren't a lot of choices to make, but I have to say that I've grown quite fond of the macro function of the g-keys. The only possible upgrade (I haven't done much research) from a g-15 for playing games could possibly be something like this. I haven't used anything like it though. On the mouse end of things, I own a Razer Copperhead. It's a little more expensive than your Logitech that you had in mind. I used to use a Logitech mid sized optical mouse and that mouse would cramp my hand and cause me pain. This mouse is considerably bigger (fits perfectly for me) and has great sensitivity. The mouse has four built in sensitivity modes: 400, 800, 1600, 2000 dpi. It also has on board memory to store your current settings so that you can take the mouse anywhere and keep your profiles / settings / key mappings etc. The memory bit is Lagniappe at best. All aforementioned are simply my personal opinions; they are far from profesional. I haven't gone the distance to test either in any type of extreme or odd conditions. They perform their basic functions flawlessly, have added features (built in macros and "on the fly sensitivity"), and both have blue LED's to suit my odd whims. I'm simply very pleased =). | I have an OCZ Equalizer mouse. On the fly DPI changing is pretty handy as well. Great price too, I got my for about $30. |

| T-Rex | I love my G15, but it's huge and trust me that's a downside. It pretty much only runs FRAPS or Winamp Visual System, a pretty nifty winamp plugin for the G15. Is it really a good gaming keyboard? Nah not really. Macros are somewhat cool but I never use them, the thing is huge BUT it's backlit. For the mouse, Razer DeathAdder. Switched from a G5, and although I preferred the G5 shape (easier to pick up), tracking on the DeathAdder is much smoother in my opinion. |

| The Logitech G5 is a great recommendation, but get at least a laser mouse instead of optical. AMD Athlon 64 Processor 4000+ Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe 4 GB DDR SDRAM 2 eVGA GeForce 7800 GT 256 MB 2 Seagate Barracuda 7200 (200GB each) Thermaltake Tsunami Windows XP SP2 |

| i still use my MX518 after trying a bunch of new G mice. Absolutely love it and wont change at all. Keyboard-wise, i had a saitek eclipse that i really liked, but i find these gaming boards are a bit cramped, i play on a Logitech Wave keyboard now. |
