Default minimizing to desktop

Everytime I play a game it minimizes to desktop.(CSS,COD4,FEAR,Quake4) Is there any way I can solve this problem. I think it is Zone Alarm doing this to me. I think its about time to get a new app for my virus/spyware needs.
Anyone have any suggestions or answers on how to make this stop?
Thanks,

I noticed my firewall does this on occasion too... usually it is just asking permission to connect to the internet... I fixed it by allowing an exception for those game executables in my firewall. Now the only time it asks is after an update (which with Steam lately has been every 2-3 days.... I hate Steam, always have)

Thanks HL and Corsair!

AVG will do the same thing when it auto updates. I just make sure it is updated before I start my game. I did that by making it manual updates and I do them myself each morning.

I have no popups or anything like that, it just minimizes. I click on the tab and the game maximizes and about 30 min. to an hour it will minimize again. Kind of aggravating when I am lining up a shot or getting shot and WHAM! desktop....

I've had issues similar to this before, but my game would only stay up for about 3 seconds, then minimize to the desktop. This seemed to be an issue mostly with modded or cracked/hacked/illegal games though, are you running such a game?

My BF2 (legal retail version) used to do this.
Many others have reported similar issues, with
the most common culprits being punkbuster,
not enough or bad memory, and problems
with the video card settings.

Are you using modified drivers? Or the stock Nvidia one? You still running XP or have you gone over to Vista?

I say check for active programs like antivvirus, spyware scanner, firewall, etc and make sure they are completely closed out, make sure unneeded services are stopped, have nothing but the game open. If it still does it then it may be the nvidia control center causing it too, especially if you have game profiles setup.

Thanks HL and Corsair!
