Default Looking for a simple, kid-friendly RTS

I'm looking for a simple, easy to grasp, kid friendly real time strategy game. Something that will stimulate the mind without too much thinking involved. Of course, strategy is needed and should be fun for older people as well. If possible, this game should be free or come at a low price. Multiplayer is a good option to have but is not required.

I found this game on the internet and tried it out, it's not bad and could possibly become quite competitive against someone else.

The game is for my cousin. She is pretty young, maybe 6-7, I forget. She plays alot of computer games and has a play station as well but her games are not very good.

You might want to check out RISK II. I picked it up a few months ago in the bargain bin for $9. If you have ever played the board game you know how much fun the game is. It also supports multiplayer on a network. You can probably find it at WalMart.

Risk is a pretty cool game. I liked playing the board game with me and my bro when we were younger. I'm afraid this game may not be the best for her though. Maybe something with graphics, like Age of Empires. Age of empires may be too violent though. Maybe an rts where they die in a comical way like in the cartoons.

I played the original Dune and found it very entertaining and easily playable on old machines and is not that complicated to learn. The multiplayer is really fun too, my roommate and I used to stay up all night waging war on each other in the dorm room freshman year.
I liked it so much I ended up buying the second generation of this game (with much better graphics and units) called Emperor: Battle for Dune.

That game is so trippy. I think i'll give it a go.

As for dune, that game is cool too. It was really simple to play and I may try it. I have played the second one which was really fun.
