Default laggy cs1.6

I need help cause my counterstrike is lagging. Last month it was running well and no lags. I stoped for a month and i started playing again and i am lagging. What is wrong? how can i fix my lag?

could be a faulty videocard, or mabye there is alot of dust in your computer. Need system specs.



E2140 @ 375 x 8 = 3.0ghz

No way that should be lagging in CS1.6. Try the things in my post here:

Panda's guide to maintaining your comp!

And try this guide by Quakindude for defragging

What is your ping like? Maybe your internet connection has changed slightly causing worse internet gaming performance.

my ping?? last month it was 60 and lower and now its like 80-150.

how do i clean the dust in my computer do i use a big vaccum or something mini i can buy..

Could that be the source of your lag? I don't play online games much, so I don't really know what kind of a ping it takes for a network connection to cause your game to lag... :dontknow:

Just do NOT under any circumstances turn the can upside down when dusting the computer out. Can you create a server in 1.6, and see if it still lags?

it could be the servers. i have streaks where i just get in lots of bad servers and i begin to question if it's my hardware or someone elses...
i agree, you should try starting your own game
