Default Hears the deal... but why?? COD2/sound

Ever since I built my system, and insalled COD2, I have had this problem with my sound.... I have onboard audio, which i use the headphones to play.

Here it is in a nut shell..

If I set my MaxFPS to anything over 330 fps, I have the sound problem with me running on hard surfaces (i dont make any sound when i run. I can run the whole length of a road and not make a single sound, or run in a house and its as if Im ice skating.......... )If I set my MaxFPS to 330 and lower, you hear every step!!!! But why???? Is the computer too fast for the onboard audio and there lyes the problem, where the computer proccess the movement way faster than the audio?

any thoughts would be greatful...... gonna leave the fps to 330 whick leaves me with sound when i run....

thanks.....

Thats an interesting problem to have but at least you figured out a way to work around it. Fortunately the human eye can not tell the difference between 100fps, 330fps or more than 330fps. Most of us can not tell the difference between anything greater than 60fps. So, as long as your fps doesn't drop drastically during online play or while 'firing on all cylinders' then you won't be able to tell the difference in visual quality.

While it still is a valid problem, and unfortunately I can not offer a solution at this time, the good news is that you found a solution that will not hinder your gaming experience.

it took em forever to figure it out... I was trying drivers and audio updates... and PunkBuster was just killing, me for it was constantly taking screen shots of me.... it was rather embaressing when I would play and guys would ask why i dont make any sound..... then I have to stop playing and try and explain that I don't know why (at the time)....

but like you said, im glad I figured it out..... I wasn't about to go out and by a sound card just to fix this..... FPs at 250 will do just fine for me!!!

thanks for the words!!

I love my N52! The "TE" looks very similar except mostly black, slightly different buttons and a different style thumbpad. If you have a chance, give us a little user review, with pics, after you get it.
