| You can use your PC for so much more than gaming so it's hard to say. If you are ONLY planning on using the PC for gaming and nothing else then I would say get consoles...read on for my reasoning. There will be games for the PC but many games often get delayed or canceled for the PC...so it really depends on what game(s) you are talking about. Yes they do. And cheating/hacking is unfortunately becoming more and more prevalent, even with anticheat programs working hard to keep up. Consoles can't stop glitching but at least their software can't be altered with cheats/hacks like it is on PCs. | ||||||||||||||

As to answer your question about no PC games in 2008, I would very much like to see where you received that bit of information, because quite frankly, it's BS.

I also recommend a PC, mainly because you can upgrade it and keep it up to date, unlike a console. ![]()

At this point it's the other way around for two big reasons. Mainly being because so many people bootleg games on the PC, which really cut into sales. Second, not a huge amount of people have gaming PCs that can handle the newer games in comparison to people with consoles. With that, for developers there's so much more money in the console market than PC, which is why many games hit the console first, followed by PC. As far as which to get really depends on what you're into. For RTS games no doubt build a PC, for sports the only option is console. If you're into a variety of games I would say get the console, or both. Build a PC and buy a 360 too. The fact of the matter is that PC's can ride with the times, whereas consoles cannot and therefore must be reiterated every couple of years. This means excess cost to the consumer as they ditch their old consoles to buy that new PS3 which retails for $399 to $499 dollars just to get that new graphics card offered in it. In effect, consoles are a money sink and quite honestly, a wasted venture. You will forever be buying a new console (and its associated peripherals) versus buying a PC and upgrading as you go along, usually in the form of only a videocard. And besides, you can buy a videocard these days that can run Crysis with decent frame rates for less than $200 bucks. Which, as you will no doubt concede, is a heckuva lot cheaper than buying a $500 PS3.

| I see where you're coming from, but the console which is $3-400 now will last you the next 3-4 years until a new one comes out. Whereas most gaming rigs will be out-dated within a shorter time frame than that, and one videocard or chip is about the price of an entire console. $350 Xbox 360 Premium. 1 controller and the console. *shrugs* I don't know, if you have a PC, a minimum of $750 of upgrades should be enough for the next 3 years to follow. ![]() If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you? | |||||||||||||||

| I would have to disagree with you. As mentioned before, there are plenty of videocards, both from AMD and nVidia with the ability to play current and next gen games for much less than the price of what an entire console costs. | ||||||||||||||
