| I'm Diggin it!
| Anyone interested in one? I have a Character with over 50 million SP, near 3 billion in money and at least another 2b in assets. He is PvP oriented only. Very little science/industrial skills. Not yet able to fly Dreads or Carriers, but wouldn't take long to get him there. Since the EULA forbids actually selling these things, I was wondering if someone would like to trade me something. The trade would be for the time it takes me to actually log in and transfer the character. I will pay the $20 transfer fee. PM's are your friend. Suffice to say, by you selling your character for money, that account will be purchased by someone else to pay the monthly fees for it. This is in stark contrast to you just deleting the character (or allowing the account to rot) and Eve Online not retaining a monthly payment at all. They want money, and the only way to do that is to keep accounts active. They gain nothing when someone quits the game and terminates their account. Regardless, when it comes to selling character accounts from MMO's, I am old hat. I would suggest Yantis as they are the most well-known, established, and respected of all online buyers and sellers of MMO accounts. These guys have been around since the early days of when I was playing EverQuest, back in 1999. Needless to say, I have made tidy sums of money selling character accounts from the various MMO's that my wife and I play. It's how we ended up paying for our first home built computers, the same one that's in my sig, four years ago. Last edited by garetjax; April 11th, 2008 at 13:58. | |||||||||||||||

| I used to have an Eve character, but paying monthly fees for games (imo) is pretty dumb. I paid ~ $50 worth of gameplay, then I got bored. So I figured it was equal to buying any another game and playing it till I was bored. But paying between $150 and $200 a year for a game... silly. One reason why I don't have an Xbox360 (the ludicris cost of XBL, and that whole ~30% failure rate) Is there some way to check your character without logging in and having to pay more $? I could possibly sell (not for nearly as much as u could, but for a teeny bit at least) Last edited by Zambini; April 12th, 2008 at 16:16. | ||||||||||||||

| I refuse to play any game that costs me any more then the original $50 cost. Monthly fees? I think thats bs... but it seems to be popular with other games and people pay it so more power to them, you won't see me in there though. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! I'd probably be a WoW addict myself if it didn't cost so much to play the stupid thing. | |||||||||||||||

So with this in mind, how is paying $14.95 a month to play an online game any different than spending money every month modding computers or upgrading an existing system? Some people play video games. Some upgrade and modify their computers. In the end, they are both hobbies, and they both cost money to sustain every month. The point? What does it matter where the money goes for our hobbies as long as our hobby provides us the fun and the enjoyment we get out of doing them? I think of it this way. It matters not how we travel the road, rather, it is the destination of it which brings us the most happiness. Last edited by garetjax; April 14th, 2008 at 13:50. | ||||||||||||||||

| For me, I buy the parts and build the computer.... end of story. I don't spend money each month and rarely spend money more than twice a year for computer parts. Same with games, I buy it for $30-50 and thats it, no monthly fees. I buy a new game maybe every 6-12 months Thats how I choose to have my fun, not something the requires a monthly payment... but this is me, I understand others may pay the monthly fee for their own reasons. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair!
