Diablo 2 Realm Problems

Hey guys, I recently re-installed my old copy of diablo 2(with expansion) in order to play with some friends. However, when I attempted to join the US East realm, I was stopped with a box saying "unable to join battle.net". So then I tired the US west realm and oddly enough I was able to join that. Sadly, players in the western realm cannot play with those on the eastern, so my goal to play with my buds remains unachieved.
I've called the live phone support, which is perpetually busy, and I've sent multiple emails their tech support, which have gone unanswered. So I was just wondering if any of you guys have any ideas as to whats going on with my game, if so I would appreciate some advice. If not, maybe you would know a more effective way of obtaining aid from blizzard? Thanks guys.

and effective way of obtaining aid from blizz doesnt exist, sorry, but im on west:)
my acc's are: (lasvegas_702 for non ladder)(lasvegas-702 for ladder)
sorry bud, and the problem has to be on there end, unless for some reason you got banned from east, since west works for you.
