| That's your problem. In 1.6 the dev console is on be default, but in source its off. If this is source, go to Options > Keyboard > Advanced and turn on the developers console. Anyways, in game hit the tilda (~) key to bring up the console and type "rate 30000"and see if it helps. Anything below 10000 is way too low, 30000 would be good for your connection. If not, try just 20000. If it does not help, then we need more info. What OS are you using, networking hardware and is it 1.6 or Source? | Vancouver's on the west coast so try connecting to a Cali server or any other good US-West server. And make sure you select a low-ping server to connect to in the first place, connecting to a random server in the Steam browser isn't going to help. | CS never had a decent netcode thats the biggest problem of that engine since the beginning. The only thing you can really do is like said above, trying to adjust the rates to the best you can. Lag will always exist and be noticeable. |
