Default Conan

I am sure some of you know that the new Conan will be coming out next month - my question is, if anyone here will be playing it - there is a monthly fee, so I know some of you won't be into it, but just curious to see if anyone can pull themselves from WoW to start a new MMO.
I want to get into something fresh, so I will be giving it a try. I'm not a Beta player, but from the reviews from some of the players that are in Beta, are pretty positive.

NAh, doesn't really look like a game for me. I enjoy RPG's, but not MMO's. The whole thing just looks too much over the top I think.

Normally not my cup of tea, but I have a friend who's gonna be playing the beta this weekend... I'll have to find what he thinks of it.

I'm defiantly going to look into it, but i'm not buying it until the final product is released and i see some reviews of it online. I normally use IGN for game reviews, you have any suggestions on better sites for gaming reviews?

Agreed ..............I'm more of an Oblivion type of guy myself. And I sure as hell am not paying a monthly fee to some site to suck away my life after I already payed for the game......I can do that my self!

as far as reviews go, i go to gamespot....sometimes i just go to ebgames to read customer reviews...but you definitely have to weed through the narrow-minded idiots :)

Conan, as an MMO, is engaging and fun. I've been playing and testing the beta for awhile now and find it to be a pretty competent game with a lot of good features and content. We'll see how the roll out of the game goes next month, as this is the most telling aspect of whether a brand new MMO will sink or swim.

As far as me actually buying the game and playing it, I just don't find the gameplay compelling enough for me to give up WoW at this point.

Wow really? I never thought I would hear someone say that they wouldn't give up WoW for something new. IMO WoW seems so small compared to AoC but you have tested it, I haven't. I'm just surprised. Could you give us more detail about why you wont play it?

As for me I didn't like WoW, I played for 2 months and got bored. Just didn't catch the WoW bug.

I really want to play AoC but the monthly fee is only thing that is hanging me up.

I think that everyone sees the outrageous success that WoW has had by charging a monthly subscription fee that now we're seeing more and more companies clamoring to get thier own paid MMO out the door to make money. I can't see the MMO era lasting too much longer, but I'm always surprised at how many people are still forking over hundreds of dollars every year to play WoW.

For the amount of time most people put into games like wow, i think 15$ a month is very reasonable. if they were to try and get that much entertainment with a different activity/ hobby, it would probably cost much more per month.

I remember when i played wow, i never bothered buying any other new games i would just play the one, and in a way i saved money since i didn't buy the new games.

But the reason i left wow, is because with the amount of income and the prices they charge, they simply are not giving the player back enough new content, balancing issues, and the support is very weak. If blizzard worried a bit more about customer service and balanced the game more, made it less of a grind for gear and levels i would be more likely to go back to it, i think arena was just a LAZY answer blizzard chose to give the people what they want, honestly give me a break.

and seriously, the game is too easy, i'm referring to raiding content, instances are just a joke all together.

/end rant
