Legit Reviews - Company of Heroes Goes DirectX 10 - Benchmarking DirectX10 - Company of Heroes v1.70

First review I've seen of it, and it looks pretty good. I was kind of surprised to see the HD2900XT beaten by the 8800GTS though (pretty badly in a few areas), despite it being the factory OC model. DISCUSS!!!

I tried it and uninstalled it right away. Didn't recognize the correct amount of ram and unless you have a uber system the gameplay is horrible.

ah yes, I was reading a few reviews on the HD2900XT yesterday and it seemed to always lose on CoH but will come out top on other games while the 8800 seemed to do well or in the middle all round.

I hear the HD2900XT is good for oblivian (is that the right spelling?)

The DirectX 10 patch? You have a X1600, that's not DX10, and DX9 the game ran fine my old P4 3.0GHz and 9600XT

No, its Oblivion

The HD2900XT in DX10 demos/games seems to be slacking alot (its horrible in the Lost Planet Demo), but as far as DX9 its normally in between the 8800GTS and GTX, and of course some games the 2900 does come out on top. Right now its really just coming down to driver support.

Yea I had the patch and it still ran horrible. Reminded me of Battlefield2.

ahh, I see. It says on the link about a new DDR4 HD2900XT, is that with 1gb of memory?

I dont see why the cards be released without good drivers, the specs say it should match the 8800 cards with 320 Stream Process and high GPU speed

Sweet, need to check this out. I just finally installed Vista Ultimate on my PC so I can dual boot into Vista or XP

Actually, Joker is right, it does run like crap :D I don't blame the devs though, I blame crappy driver support. I couldn't even get the 160.02 drivers to install, I'm still running on 158.45's.
